This is not really a science question. The closest it gets is that the chemical symbol for silver (Ag) is derived from its Latin name – which is argentum, not argent.
Argent is the French word for silver, or money. It's also the heraldic name, used in English, for silver (often considered to be synonymous with white in this context).
